 The India Nation

General India’s independence is an auspicious day in the history of India and the country’s future too. It helps in forging united efforts and bringing about prosperity. It also focuses on empowering the country, alleviating poverty, consolidating the masses and has fostered national consciousness.

The nation’s Independence

India is a continent-wide country and its independence from the British Empire ensured liberty, equality, fraternity and democratic rights. India has since then undergone various transitions and developed a culture of patience and dynamism as well as at the same time endeavoring to embrace policies and strategies that will prepare the country for future challenges. The country can be ranked amongst the fastest growing nations in the world. The rapid development has enabled the state to initiate extraordinary measures that include setting up of a National Health Mission, National Education Mission, Jeevan Jyoti Yojana, Vidyagiri Mandal Scheme and several other that are geared towards achieving the targets of Indians.

The workforce

India has over 20 million industry and the GDP is over a trillion dollar. Though the population accounts for only two percent of the global population, it has a population that is proportionate to the world’s population. Therefore, this is an important fact in such a context. There is a shortage of skilled and unskilled human resources. An estimate has it that over two million people are looking for jobs. Technology has made this an uphill task. The ability to monitor transactions and records in a country that has a large population shows that the population demand has been presented to hindrances.

The Population

In 2016 the population of India in the population of the world was 1.39 billion. The population is projected to increase to 1.51 billion by 2025. Among other factors, the increase is attributed to an economic boost in terms of economic activities as well as growth in urban areas (Lautenschlager). The population growth will be affected negatively by various factors. Since India is highly urbanized the challenges of maintaining the standard of living are imminent. Infrastructure is inadequate resulting in traffic jams and other services such as electricity being unavailable. The availability of rural lands will be affected by the development as well, another factor.

The Government

The Central Government is composed of the Central Government plus the State Governments. The Central Government is making the decisions regarding business within the territory. The states are tasked with devolving their respective responsibilities to more central units, which are further concerned by the central Government. Rural areas form a very large proportion of the population whereas the urban area is a very small portion (Lautenschlager). A developing nation like India requires a very much centralized state and power. The state is beneficial in reducing state influence. A very effective government with competent administration is a good option.

Some of the difficulties

The population is overcrowded since there is a shortage of skilled and unskilled human resources. The increased population resulting from the economic boom is attributed to inadequate infrastructure. Good roads and other infrastructure within a city enhance operations of industries and business firms (“Overview of Governance” para. 4). Most of the urban populations are educated to within the scope of professionals, whereas the rural population comprises of mostly unskilled laborers. This factor of inadequate schooling hinders growth and development. 

An expansion of the country’s Railways and other urban infrastructures will ensure that there is high economic growth. Rural areas must be developed since this is the only way to ensure there is adequate labor supply that will sustain the rapid population increase (“Overview of Governance” para. 10). This strategy is the best as it will prevent human resource shortage for the nation (“Overview of Governance” para. 9). An efficient government governance system will be important as well.

Interference by the foreigners

Some of the economic activities that the country faces include extreme competition for jobs in the country due to the increased population. Educational forces are too few. These include scholars who have considerable experience. Experts mainly include engineers, physical and water scientists. Very few foreign scholars come to India to study.
