KARACHI  Leading Pakistani comedian Omar Sharif has been issued a US visa for medical treatment, a spokesman for the Sindh government said in a Twitter message.

According to details, Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that Omar Sharif has been issued a US visa for treatment for which he thanked the US Consulate. It may be recalled that Omar Sharif had suffered a heart attack after which his health deteriorated again a month later and he was taken to hospital. Omar Sharif's illness could not be cured in Pakistan, which he appealed to the Pakistani government for a visa and other matters to go to the United States. Efforts were also made by the Sindh government to obtain visas, which have now come to fruition.

The Sindh government has arranged for an air ambulance to take Omar Sharif to the United States, while special funds of Rs 40 million have been released for him, which will be spent on his treatment.

It is also worth mentioning here that messages were also received from Omar Sharif's son and wife for help from the government on which Imran Khan had also directed to make arrangements as soon as possible.
